Hardware Testing Circuit, Misc. Progress

Should've Done this the First Time

I tried to choose parts without testing and it was a waste of time

I’m thinking about making a “45 in a box” that I can take to school and ensure functionality. This will also let me test all the components in a best case scenario (in a circuit I didn’t design) so I’ll know that it isn’t a hardware issue. In general this will make swapping out hardware easier so I can get the new circuit correct.

More Professional Propellers

I had to manually reverse the blade twist to work with my inverted propellers

I’ve been leaving some efficiency on the table because the blade twist was inverted and the generator refused to invert it. This week I went in an tired to manually adjust the profiles to get the correct blade twist. I think it came out ok but it still needs some work. Flight is a large part of this project so spending multiple weeks to get the blades right will be worth it. For now I just want a fully functional prototype so the circuit needs to be my focus.

Server Experimentation

I want to get familiar with enterprise hardware for the experience

I’m moving my workstation software from my laptop to my server so I can access it anywhere. I’ll need to keep all the programming software local but things like Fushion and KiCad are prime targets to have on the server. I think it will give me some good IT experience and make me more productive.

Plans For Next Week:

Headway on a new circuit is priority

I need to program everything on my test circuit to make sure the parts I chose were a good idea. I might need to switch out components for the V2 circuit so I want to figure all that out now. I have some server and propeller design work to do as well.

Todo List:

  1. Design a housing for the test circuit so it is portable but easy to work on
  2. Ensure all the components in the test circuit are working
  3. Possibly do more flight testing or server maintenance (mood dependent)
