Tv2 Client Code/Multi-Connection Demo
Test Programming Platform
Depending on when the circuit board gets here I might have another week to refine this
I started with the Tv1 code and tweaked it to work with the new microphones and led display. The new display is completely different in layout, control and led type so it took some work to get the emotions to work. I put in some effort to make them much smoother then the V1’s. I manually made all the sprites for the V1 and this limited my flexibly. The Tv2 just draws a circle and allows me to tweak colors and movements for the different emotions. I tried to get the tiles to talk to each other but the speech overlapped constantly. I know that I can make the tile interesting to talk to but that will have to come later (likely with a different AI model).
Tv2 Emotion/Speech Demo
This is progress but it would’ve been better if the tiles actually talked about something
I accidently got some sodium hydroxide on the Tv1 and now its audio output is messed up but it worked well enough for this demo. I tried to turn down the Tv1’s sensitivity but the pauses in the audio still let it wake up. I’m happy with the Tv2’s ability to pick up speech. I’ll need to add an indicator for when it is listening but otherwise it works very well. I’m continue to tweak the emotions to try to make the Tv2 more expressive and unique.

Plans For Next Week:
Some more programming or physical design
I was waiting on the new circuit board to build the next flight model because I want to try my 8mm motors. I might fast-forward this timeline and build some more flight models if I find the time. More likely I’ll continue working on the Tv2/Server code. The emotions aren’t done by an AI model right now so they are all over the place sometimes. Now that I have emotions on the client side working well I’ll shift my focus.
Todo List:
- Emotions need rework? (Server side)
- Solder circuit as soon as it comes in
- Maybe work on the blimp design
